“Battersea St. Georges. - On February 14th, we held our Lantern Service of Song entitled 'Christie's Old Organ'. We are thankful to say our school-room, which holds about four hundred people, was so crowded that we were obliged to turn a good number away from the doors. Our Vicar, Rev. G. Whitborne, gave the readings and the choral Society sang. (...) Our next service will be held March 22nd, and is entitled 'Mother's Last Words'. We are glad to report that our Sunday services are more largely attended, and that we believe God's Holy Spirit is working amongst us stirring up the people. The work at battersea is very difficult, and we need much prayer; (...). For CAPT. VERYARD”
