“'Vans Make a Note': On Monday, a Lecture, illustrated by lantern views, was given in the parochial Hall, by Capt. Bean, of the Thope Mission. It was opened by the Curate, who led the prayer. Capt. Bean explained the different branches of the Church Army, both by lantern slides and by short address. We were pleased to see Capt. Friend of the Littlehampton parish with us, who also gave a short address. The lecture was concluded by a speech from the Vicar, who said that there had been several lectures, etc. in the parish, but there had never been a visit from the Church Army Van yet, which he should very much like to have. (...)”
