“'God Save the Queen': A service of song, entitles 'The Way to Heaven', was given in the old school, illustrated by a very powerful limelight lantern, manipulated by our friend Mr. Calver. The room was crowded, and it was truly a Gospel service from the beginning to the end. The people listened very attentively to the connective reading, which was given by our good vicar (Rev. E. Seymonds) (...). In consequence of its popularity the service was repeated on Sunday night, after church service, in the club room opposite, which was crowded. (...)”
