“An Open Air Campaign': The members of this mission at St. Philip's,Salford, have had a glorious time. (...) Then on Good Friday we had a splendid army of workers for the Open-Air Campaign; several centres were visited, and a cordial invitation to the Lantern Service in Church was given to all by our energetic Capt. Rowland, who ably led us with his well-known and well-used concertina. Then we had a fine number of people in Church to listen to Canon Hicks expound Story of the Cross, asissted by a number of beautiful coloured slides. It was our first Lantern Service in church, and all felt very hearty and reverent.”
