“'How the Lad Helped': The Annual Sale of Work, which was this year in aid of the New Organ Fund, realized ₤25. A C.A. Tea was held on Saturday in the Parish Room, Wirksworth, which was followed by a Service of Song, 'The Roll Call' in aid of hymn books, at which 250 were present. (...) The Service of Song was illustrated by forty-one lantern slides; Mr. Wood, Gazette Agent for Crich, came over with his lantern and worked it for us, (...), Canon Gem read the Story. (...)”
