“When to Stop At a Public House': The Rochester II. Van has completed a three weeks' Mission in Lewisham. The first fortnight was taken up with open-air services in various parts of the parish. Capt. Anderson with Cadets Matchem and Ackroyd, giving stirring addresses each night, and inviting the peopel to the indoor lantern services. As a result the services in the parish hall during the last week of the mission were fairly well attended, about one thousand people being present to hear Capt. Anderson speak on Friday, whilst about two hundred were unable to obtain admission. (...)”
