“'Twenty Honest Blackburnites Sit Down To One Pie': (...) On Saturday, we had a potato supper to commemorate the captain's two years' work and the number of people who sat down was 200, and the number of pies was 23 (...). After supper we had a Lantern Service, entitled 'Sorrows and Humours of the London Police Court. The pictures were shown on the sheet by out captain, and our vicar's brother, C. H. Denyer, explained the pictures. (...)”
