“'Come Again Soon': The visit of the C.A. Evangelists excited much interest in the parish. Seventeen meetings were held, and the smaller room at the Village Hall and the West End Church were repeatedly packed with an assembly of attentive and reverent listeners, amounting often to 200 persons. The subject of the discourse was usualls the 'old, old story', illustrated by many excellent lantern pictures. Every adress was preceded by short devotional service, consisting of the General Confession, the Lord's prayer, and suitable prayers taken from the Book of Common Prayer; these also as well as some favourite hymns were presented to the eye on the lantern sheet. (...)”
