“The most important event of the past month with us has been the visit of the Exeter I Church Army Van. The officers were Capt. Gibbon and Mr. Fry, his cadet, who were with us for a fortnight (...). Meetings were held in the schoolroom ususally at 7.30. On three occasions the lantern was used, twice for what is called a lantern service, and once to illustrate the work of the Church Army. It is not usually possible or desirable to attempt a critical account of work of this kind, but we feel very thankful for what has been done and we feel sure that the mission was a very real help to not a few. (...) ”
