Reference

“'Wanted - A Sure Foundation': On Easter Monday the second tea and service of song in connection with the above mission, was held in St. Michael's hall. The tea, which was given by the members and friends of the mission, was an excellent one. About 200 persons sat down, and full justice was done to the good things so generously provided. After tea, the service of song was given by the members of the mission. Mr. Ford presided at the organ and Mr. Naisbitt accompanied on the violin. The narrative story was read by Mr. C.E. Tymms.. The service was also illustrated by limelight views, the lanternist being Mr. Grimshaw, to whose kindness we are very much indebted. The proceeds go towards a new floor for the mission hall, which is very much needed. More boards are required to complete the work. (...).”
