“'Some Light on the Subject': Capt. Thompson and his helper (Brother Roberts) terminated the Church Army mission which they had successfully carried on for a fortnight in this parish. The young men were very well received by the people and the meetings in the schoolroom numerously attended. Their addresses , delivered with much earnestness, were well calculated to impress those who heard them, and the subjects they took were illustrated by an excellent lantern. (...)”
