ANDERSON, Captain   (fl. 1900s) – lecturer

Reference

“'Tommy Atkins Holding the Fort': The attendance of St. Anne's school-room last Tuesday, on the occasion of two lantern services given by Capt. Anderson, was most encouraging. The first service was for children and commenced at six o' clock. It was gratifying to find the capacious schoolroom packed with little faces eagerly scanning the pictures on the sheet, and all of them giving rapt attention to the story of the 'Torn Bible'; three hundred little ones were present. The second meeting was at 7.30 for adults; there were about 90 present. (...) On Saturday, Capt. Anderson gave a lantern lecture in the Infantry Barracks coffee room; there was a large attendance of soldiers and a lively interest was hold throughout the lecture.”
