“'We catch passers by.' King's Norton - District of West Heath. - Our captain, Frank Chamberlain and friends in the district, organised a Church Army tea and entertainment on Saturday last, which was a great success. About fifty sat down to a hearty mel, at tables spread in one of the fields, kindly lent for the occasion, and this was followed by a programme of hymns and recitations carefully prepared and very well rendered by a choirm under the conductorship of our good organist. At the close of this selction, the friends were invited to the farmyard, where a sheet had been hung against a barn, and the aprish lantern was brought into requisition to illustrate the touching story of 'Little Minnie.' The gathering for this portion of the entertainment was augmented by passers by from the road near to, and remarks were overheard at the close of the reading appreciative of the effort. We are very sorry to be losing Capt. Chamberlain this autumn; he has done a good work here, and is welcomed everywhere. MAy God's blessing rest on him in his new sphere. A.J., Lay Reader.”
