“THE C.A. IN THE GROCERY TRADE Coddington, Ledbury. - The hop-yards have been visited, and about 2,000 C.A. Gazettes given to the hop-pickers; also Lantern Lectures and Gospel Services have been held in different places. The Church Army kindly lent us a beautiful tent, for which we were all thankful. Capt. Southam was also wlecome. This year we tried to meet the needs of the people, and opened a grocery shop, and we are glad to say God abundantly blessed the effort. Look in the tent a moment. About 150 hop-pickers have come for grocery. Capt. Southam, with others, is iserving grocery and meant at a very low price. The sick also wer cared for. A poor sick girl, thought to be dying, was watched and tended day and night by friends from the Rectory. The good Vicar and Mrs. Curtis gave a tea to the pickers and a most pleasant time was spent. The Rev. and Mrs Curtis gave a splendid address which some of the pickers said they would never forget. Capt. Southam also spoke and then the old favourite was sung, 'God be with you'. We all wish to thank the many kind of friends who sent us books, tracts, Gazettes, etc. Romasn i. 16 was proved to be true.”
