“SETTING UP THE MAGNET Gorton, Manchester, St. James. - Capt. and Mrs Wolstenholme commenced their work here about a month ago, during that time about 18 have professed to start on a new life. Our indoor and out-door services are well attended, and several who have neglected all means of grace for years have been led to attend the Wednesday evening Church Service and Holy Communion. We have got a set of cartoons, and we take out in the open-air the picture of the crucifixion, and it not only proves an attraction, but one was led to decide to live a Christian life through its instrumentality, while Mr. Wolstenholme was singing, 'Alas, and did my Saviour bleed.' We have had a very good lantern entertainment, and our social evenings are very enjoyable times. We feel the effects of the iron strike, as our chief industry here is the large iron works, but 'my God will supply all your need,' is a promise which still holds good. Pray for us.
