“A surprise: With much regret we have said good-bye for the present to the 'Worcester' Van II., which has been staying in this parish on a week's Mission. The Church Army way quite a new thing to most of the people, but the services every night were well attended, the room being full, and the bright earnest addresses of Capt. Coleman were listened to with reverence and attention. The beautiful pictures shown through the Lantern by Cadet Parker, helped to impress on our minds the great love of Jesus. Our Rector and Curate were present at the meetings, and helped by reading the prayers. The Mission closed on Sunday with a large open-air service in the afternoon, and a service for men only at night, which was well attended. May God abundantly bless them in their work for Him, and water the seed sown in our midst.”
