“Southhampton, Holy Trinity.- On December 25th, at 7.30 am, we met at our Hall to ask God's blessing through the day. Afterwards we attended Holy Communion in the Church. At 10 our Captain held his usual Bible class in the parish room. A good number of C.A. soldiers were present. At 2 P.M. we held our usual open-air meeting at Six Dials. After this we returned to our Hall, where we had a service of song (...). On Boxing day, we held our Christmas tea-party in the Mission Hall, whe a good number sat down to a substantial tea. After tea we went out for a march rounf the parish, headed by our band. We then returned to out hall and had a very interesting magic-lantern entertainment, entitled 'A Trip to Ireland and India'. Two stories were also given by our kind friend, Mr. Curtis. Our Curate, Rev. Shepherd gave a vote of thanks to Mr. Curtis for his kindness. (...)”
