“Rishton, SS. Peter and Paul - We are pleased to report steady progress at this station. The attendance at our Sunday-night meeting is increasing. November 30, being a fine day, large numbers stood and listened in the open air, from six to seven o'clock and when we left for the inside meeting a good number accompanied us. After a bright hearty meeting of an hour we went again into the open air, many of the congregation going with us and joining heartily in singing the Praises of our God; the service was closed by singing 'God be with you till we meet again'. On October 1, Captain Cox and choir, from Blackburn, gave us a service of song with magic lantern views, entitled 'Nellie's Prayer' and 'The Torn Bible', which were much appreciated by about 140 people. The connective readings were given by the Rev. H. West. Our heartiest thanks are tendered to Captain Cox and friends for their kindness and we pray that God will abundantly bless the work of the C.A. here. Our Gazettes are selling well, and we trust as our readers read this report, thy amy be inspired to further help us in this department of work. CAPT. POPPLESTONE”
