“Maldon, St. Mary. - We opened our new parish-room on February 29th, after tea in the mission-room (to which more than a 100 sat down). We had a magic lantern exhibition 'Ten Nights in a Bar-Room', at the close of which the Mayor of Maldon (Mr. Councillor Fitch) declared the new parish-room open. It will be used for Bible classes, mothers meetings, prayer meetings, & c., and being connected by means of the doors with the mission room, is likely to prove of great service in the work. Subscriptions to the tea were collected by members of the Church Army, and the profits were given to the work.”
