Reference

“'Hoisting the New Flag': Capt. Cousens and Cadet Foster have spent a fortnight in this parish. It has been indeed a sowing for God, particularly for the young men. The mission services in the school – with their earnest, practical addresses – have been well attended. The lantern lectures were crammed. The Van, which lodged under the school oak, left on Wednesday with ringing cheers (...). A new flag for the Van has been worked at the rectory and sent off to fly over their new quarters.”
