“As poor, yet making rich. Minworth, near Birmingham. – We have just had an interesting, and helpful visit from Capt. Davey (Lay Association Secretary). He has been with us six days nearly, giving Lantern Lectures at Bodymoor Heth, Middelton, Minworth, Kingsby to adults and children. In addition to these meetings, Capt. Davey gave address at Mrs. Gassicks’ Mother Meetings at Bodymoor Heath (Monday), and Minworth (Tuesday), and took part in the Body Youth Folks Meeting (Sunday, aftern.). Although these parts are thinly inhabited (many coming long distances to the meetings), and the people poor, the offertories taken at the meetings on behalf of the social scheme amounted to £ 3 4s. 4d. We all thank God for Capt. Davey’s visit”
