[Magic lantern service] (lantern service, Llandudno, Caernarvonshire, Wales, 1894)

Type of event
lantern service
Full title
Magic lantern service
Date
1894
Audience
2 weeks mission for Young Men's Club
Reference
‘The Church's Holy War’ in Church Army gazette

“Wings not stings: [...] The Young Men's Club which meets in the Mission Room three nights a week has been provided with fortnightly lectures by means of Church Army Slides and Lantern which has proved attractive, and it is to be hoped will result in permanent good. The cost of carriage of slides is provided for by a well wisher. Under God's blessing these services have been the means of bringing the stray sheep back to the fold. Christian friends let us be careful in our words and actions. As the microscopic sting of a little insect sometimes poisons the blood and inflames the body of a strong man, the mere whisper of a tale bearer will kindle the fire of discord in a whole community.”
