CLIFFORD, Edward  (fl. 1890s) – lecturer

Reference
W. Gassick, ‘The Church's Holy War’ in Church Army gazette

“In thorough touch: On December 15th Mr. Edward Cliffords (Hon. Evan. Sec. and Treas.) delivered at the Church House a most interesting address on 'Social Wreckage.' The lecture was illustrated by Lantern Views of the Labour Homes, &c. The Rector presided, and, in introducing the speaker, said he himself was in thorough touch and sympathy with the Church Army. This was the first time for Mr. Clifford to address a meeting at Llandudno, and he fully explained the working of the Church Army system. He showed that people of wealth and leisure, once their sympathy is enlisted, can do so much to help the good work, by their support, influence, and example.”
