GEORGE, Mr   (fl. 1890s) – lantern operator

Reference
‘The Church's Holy War’ in Church Army gazette

“Showman for Christ's sake: On Saturday the 1st, and Monday the 3rd inst., we had three most glorious Magic Lantern Services. The lantern was most kindly brought and manipulated by our friend, Mr. George (Dowlais). The views were explained and commented on by the Captain, whom the Vicar at the close of the service called 'A good Showman.' If the beautiful views and imperfect comments thereon, were used by God to show forth His wondrous love, and sinners drawn nearer to 'Earth's Saviour and Heaven's Delight,' we are glad to be called 'Showman' for Christ's sake. We expect still more glorious times on next, January 7th, 1895.”
