Reference
‘The Church's Holy War’ in Church Army gazette

“All round with a lantern: The inhabitants of Coldfair Green and neighbouring parishes, viz., Friston, Sizewell, Leiston, Aldringham, and Snape, have been favoured lately with lectures on 'The Church Army - what it is and what it does: a work for the county and town.' The lectures were well delivered by Capt. Bray, being delivered by many lantern slides, the lecturer showing the progress of the Church Army since its origin in 1883, when it was founded by the Rev. Carlile as a short, bright meeting for the poor of St. Mary Abbot, Kensington, London. The numerous lectures were well attended, and a substantial sum was realised for the mission.”
