COLLINS, Captain J. Martin (fl. 1890s-1900s) – lecturer
Church Army Canterbury Van – organiser
“The Van 'Canterbury': The Church Army Van has been in an outlying district in my Parish for a week. Capt. Collins and his two assistants have done some excellent work in house to house visitations, and by selling Bibles, Prayer books, &c. Services have been held in the Hockenden Mission Room, and Capt. Collins has given a lecture on the work of the Church Army, and also two stories illustrated by the Magic Lantern to our children. All the services were exceedingly well attended, and much appreciated by all who came, and I fell sure much benefit has attended the visit of the Van to our parish.”
