“How to get new Hymn Books: A very successful Magic Lantern Entertainment was held in the National School-room, on Monday evening, February 26, the proceeds of which were devoted towards the decorations, and C.A. Hymn Books introduced by Nurse Miller. That pathetic story, 'Her Benny,' was read by the Vicar, and was listened to throughout with breathless interest. The Vicar concluded with a short address. Then succeeded various excellent slides of local views, which had been taken by Mr. Barratt, and which greatly amused and interested everyone present. Throughout it was felt that the Entertainment was one of the most successful and edifying that have ever been held at Mostyn, and it is proposed to hold a series of similar ones during the forthcoming weeks.”
