“Happy Times: Our first Sunday night Lantern Service was the means of getting in a large number who do not regularly attend our Services. It took place after the usual Service. Our second is on Sunday night, Jan. 7. Mrs. Gassick has commenced a Young Women's Meeting which, so far, has been well attended. Our Almanacs have taken well, also our Christmas Gazette. On Boxing Night our Mission Hall was the scene of a successful C.E.T.S. gathering. There was an interesting programme, and fruit, biscuits, coffee, & c., were freely given during the interval. On Sunday night Mr. Humphrey, who leaves soon for the Training Home, gave the address. Our Christmas services at our Church and Mission Room have been well attended. The two lantern Services, I have conducted at our country Mission Church (Haysden), have been well attended. At one of these, Nurse Goodfree, C. A., gave the connective readings. Our Church and Mission Hall have been prettily decorated for Christmas Services and Meetings. We have already made good use of our lantern, kindly obtained for our work by our Vicar. We are all looking forward to a sixteen days' Mission in our church, by the Rev. W. H. Aitken, in February next. (D. V.)”
