“Bedfordshire - The anniversary meetings of this prosperous Union were recently held in the Howard Chapel, Bedford. At the afternoon meeting Mr. Jabez Carter took the chair, and distributed reward to collectors for the Movement and the Temperance Hospital. The report, read by the hon. sec., Mr. Rowland Hill, referred to the stall at the National Bazaar, the summer festivals, special sermons, the ladies' working party, dissolving view lectures, the education scheme, and other special efforts. The Union numbers 100 societies, with 11,600 members, and the funds are in good condition. The evening meeting was under the presidency of Mr. Stimson, an excellent address being delivered by Mrs. Ormiston Chant. ”
