“Bedford Institute, Spitalfields - The annual report of these useful societies, junior and senior, show that the work has been well sustained during the past year, the proceedings being carefully proportioned between instruction and amusement, the lantern playing a prominent part. The recruiting scheme is to be energetical taken up. The book-stall and penny -bank are well supported. There are 170 junior and 148 senior members in good standing, and a balance in hand. ”
