“Teaching by Eye and Ear - In view of the importance of illustration in enforcing Temperance Truth, the Committee provided suitable material for this purpose. The lantern was again largely used. No fewer than 2,071 audiences had the advantage of this specially attractive mode of instruction. The panoramas of the Union were largely used and were much in demand, and speakers and lecturers were furnished with charts, diagrams, food specimens, wall pictures, and apparatus for chemical experiments”
