“Windsor - A forward movement has been made in the formation of the Windsor United Temperance Council. This comprises the various adult and juvenile societites in the district. Its public work commenced with the two gatherings on Dec. 14, in the Holy Trinity Parish Hall. The first was attended by some 400 children, members of seven Bands of Hope, who were entertained with an interesting and instructive lantern lecture entitled, 'Wayside Scenes and stories', by Mr. Judson Bonner, of the U.K.B.H. Union. An adult meeting followed, when Mr. Bonner gave an address on 'The cry of the children' illustrated with many telling slides, which were shown by means of an powerful electric lantern, in the hands of the Rev. of H. Tower (Rector), the President of the Council. The new Association is prepared to do some useful work, and has organised a capital series of Band of Hope contests, to be held next Easter.”
