Exeter Camera Club – organiser
“That there is plenty of talent among members of the Exeter Camera Club was demonstrated at the exhibition opened at Barnfield House, Exeter, yesterday. The exhibition, which will continue open today, and admission to which is free, is well worth a visit. Interest in the work of the Club has increased rapidly of late, and there are now about 80 members as compared with 30 two years ago. [...]
A feature of the exhibition is the class devoted to lantern slides. Some attractive work in both colour and monochrome is shown, many of the exhibits being of a high order. [...]
[Awards for] Lantern slides. -- Monochrome: Bronze medal, 'The Loch,' Mrs B.W. Jackson; certificate, 'A Wayside Pond,' W.T. Aviolet. The best exhibits in this section were 'The Entomologist,' F.W. Walker, and 'The Village Pump,' Dr C. Beauchamp Hall, but as both these exhibitors had already won the full number of medals in other sections, they were disqualified from medals here, being in lieu awarded certificates. Colour: Bronze medal, 'Nasturtiums' (a remarkably fine slide), F.G. Tutton; certificate 'Omnium Gatherum,' J.W. Lake.
