“The last of the course of Saturday evening free lectures was given on Saturday last by the Curator of the Museum [...].

Mr Rowley next described the meaning and use of concealing colouration, illustrating the various points by a fine series of slides, including some beautiful natural colour slides. An explanation was also given of waraning colours and mimicry amongst insects, and actual specimens were shown at the conclusion of the lecture. [...]

A word of praise is due to the lanternist, Mr Cannicott, who worked the lantern throughout with exceptional skill.”
