“Mr William Burman-Morrall gave a lecture on Saturday evening at the Royal Albert Memorial College, Exeter, on 'The History of Painting.' Mr Rowley occupied the chair, in the absence of the Rev. Walker King, and introduced the lecturer. Mr Morrall dealt with his subject in a very comprehensive manner, and delighted his audience not only with his many interesting anecdotes, told very simply, but also with an excellent collection of slides, representing subjects from pre-historic times to the end of the 17th Century.

The lecture was illustrated with lantern slides of photographs of old masters and masterpieces, and various other paintings. At the conclusion a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the lecturer.
