“Torquay Natural History Society was yesterday favoured with an extremely interesting lecture by Mr F.R. Rowley, curator of Exeter Museum, on 'Natural History Museums.' The lecturer remarked that no one who took any interest in the progress of these institutions could fail to have noticed the change which had come over the aspect of affairs of late years. It was now generally recognised that when a building had been erected, furnished with cases, and objects provided to fill the cases, the work of the museum had only just begun. The lecture was admirably illustrated with lantern slides of the exteriors and interiors of a number of museums and some of their contents.
