“For the first Meeting of the New Year an exhibition of Lantern Slides from photographs taken by members was arranged, and was followed by an interesting discussion on the subjects shown.
Mr Turner showed several slides of Alpine Flora growing at an altitude of 5,000 feet and upwards, and one of the Arlberg tunnel which connects Arlberg to St Anton. [...]
Dr Bolderston showed several slides of botanical interest, including Parsley Fern from the Pyrenees and one of the Roseg Glacier in the Engadine.
Slides of Cornish coastal scenery were shown by Mr Aviolet, illustrating some of the chief geological features of the district, and two exceptionally fine pictures of lightning showing the ramifications of the electrical discharge in a severe thunderstorm.
