“The showing of lantern slides and specimens, and the communication of notes and records of observations formed the material of a very interesting and instructive meeting.

Dr R.V. Solly showed specimens and coloured slides of two species of Lepidoptera -- the Beautiful Underwing Moth [...] and the Copper Butterfly [...].

Mr F.R. Rowley brought a series of lantern slides showing very beautiful views of sea and sky to illustrate results obtained before the days of the colour sensitive plates now used for such subjects.
