“Paper by Mr W.J. Lucas, B.A., F.E.S., on 'Some British Land and Fresh-water Shells.' (Communicated by Mr A.O. Rowden).
An excellent description was given of all the principal species, illustrated by a fine series of lantern slides, the greater number of which were photographs from nature. Some of the smaller species mentioned in the paper were exhibited under microscopes, lent by members of the Club.
Mr Ralph Morgan exhibited a representative series of land and freshwater shells, collected in Devon, and Mr Rowden brought some of the commoner species from localities in Surrey, so that the paper was exceptionally well illustrated.
The chair was taken by the President.
”The lecture was apparently written by W.J. Lucas, but delivered on this occasion by A.O. Rowden.
The event was almost certainly held in the premises of the Royal Albert Memorial College, probably in the main Royal Albert Memorial Museum building on Queen Street.
