“A lantern lecture was given in St Mary's Parish Hall on Thursday evening by Mr W. Weaver Baker, Medallist in Photography, of Bridgwater, on the 'History and Architecture of Exeter Cathedral.' There was a large attendance, and the lecture, which was of a most interesting character, was illustrated by some beautiful views, taken by Mr Weaver [sic] himself, of the Cathedral, several specimens of delightful coloured photography being shown. The Vicar (Rev. Dr  H.T. Dixon) presided, and at the close the Rev. W.E. Catlow expressed cordial thanks to the lecturer. A collection was taken at the doors in aid of the St Mary's Church Organ Renovation Fund.”
