[Weaver Baker Collection: Exeter Cathedral] (lecture: privately made, 230 slides, 1900s)
BAKER, W. Weaver (1866-1954) – lecturer
“In the Chapter House, Exeter, the Cathedral Guild of St Peter was entertained to an excellent exhibition of lantern slides by Mr H.[sic] Weaver-Baker. The subject dealt with the detail work of the Cathedral, the corbels, bosses and miseres being specially treated. Mr Weaver-Baker explained the meaning and symbolism of many of the quaint and interesting figures. Among the slides exhibited were several of the stained-glass windows photographed in coloured photography plates. Another series gave a close up view of the figures on the minstrels gallery. The Archdeacon of Totnes presided, and at the conclusion a hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr Weaver-Baker.
