ABBEY, John (c.1841-1918) – lecturer
C.E.T.S. Norwich Branch – organiser
“The Schoolroom of this parish was crowded to the doors on Thursday evening last to hear a lecture by Mr. John Abbey, who had been invited by Miss Ireland, who takes a deep interest in the Temperance Cause. Mr. Abbey illustrated his lecture by a large number of beautiful pictures thrown on the wall by a powerful limelight lantern, and the audience listened with marked attention for fully an hour and a half. The collection was given in aid of the work of the CETS in the Diocese.”
