ABBEY, John (c.1841-1918) – lecturer
C.E.T.S. Norwich Branch – organiser
“A very well-attended meeting was held in the Mission Room of this parish on Monday evening last, when the Rev. Canon Romsell presided. The Temperance Choir occupied the first half-hour, and rendered a delightful selection of music, which gave great satisfaction to all present. The Rector then called upon Mr. Abbey to give his Lecture on the History and Work of the Society, which was illustrated by over fifty beautiful limelight views, many of them being original slides. The Branch is doing good work; it numbers over 900 members, thanks to the energy of Mr. H. Ainsworth, the energetic secretary.”
