“On Tuesday, at the Parish Schoolroom, there was a large gathering of young people, a bountiful tea being kindly provided by Mrs. Micklenburg and Mr. Bedingfield. Subsequently the Vicar (Rev. B.W. Raven) expressed the thanks of all present to the laies for the kind interest they had taken in he meeting, including Miss Carr and Miss Sherwood. Subsequently a meeting was held, when the Vicar presided, and an address, illustrated by lime-light viws, was given by Mr. Abbey, the Diocesan Secretary, at the close of which it was decided to form a Branch of the CETS Young Crusaders Union for the parish. Sixty-eight cards were distributed to the members, all of whom had taken the total abstinence pledge, and several other persons present gave in their names to join.”
