Reference

“The Committee of the CETS (Putney Branch) deviated from their usual line of entertainment at their fortnightly meeting held on Tuesday evening at St. Mary's Mission Rooms. Instead of the usual musial entertainment they had arranged, for the benefit of their members and audience, a popular lecture, entitled 'A Medical Missionary Afloat and Ashore' given by Mr. F. W. Willway, M.R.C.S., under the auspices of the Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen. The lecture, which was illustrated with beautiful lime-light views, was intensely interesting. The subjecton which Mr. Willway set his lecture was Labrador, describing the work of a medical missionary in that territory, amongst the fishermen and Esquimaux, their life and habits. Amongst a large number of slides shown n the sheet were views of the hospitals founded by their Society, such as those siuated at Indian Harbour and Battle Harbour, views of Hudson Bay Station, the Society's first hospital ship, 'Albert', and numerous others were shown. A collection in aid of the funds of the Society was made during the evening.”
