ABBEY, John (c.1841-1918) – lecturer
C.E.T.S. Norwich Branch – organiser
“On Monday, March 21, the Diocesan Secretary, gave an address in the Parish Church to men only, and to the general congregation in the evening, when there was a large attendance. After the service Mr. Abbey proceeded to the Mission Room, where he gave another address, illustrated by lime-light views. The room was packed. At the close the Vicar, the Rev. E. Symonds, spoke strongly in favour of Temperance and purity; also thanked Mr. Abbey for the words he had spoken. The collection at the evening service in church was for the Diocesan Branch.”
