ASKWITH, T. (fl. 1880s) – lecturer
C.E.T.S. Hertfordshire Branch – organiser
“On November 13 there was a crowded meeting in the parish schoolroom, many of the Band of Hope members being present, Rev. E. Parkinson presiding. The great attraction was an admirable dissolving-view lecture by Mr. T. Askwith, 'Travels in Egypt,' which delighted both young and old. Mr. Ernest Rickman, deputation from Parent Society, followed with 'Three reasons for singing the pledge,' with special reference to the importance of Temperance work amongst the young. Whatever course they follow themselves, it was the bounden duty of parents t place their children on the safe path, and encourage them to love all that was good and pure.”
