SHARRATT, F.N. (c.1860- after 1901) – lecturer
SHIPWAY, George (fl. 1890s) – lecturer
Birmingham Sunday School Union – organiser
“Birmingham - The annual musical festival of this Union has just been held in the Town Hall; that capacious building being well filled upon six evenings by appreciative audiences. The subject chosen this year was 'Heroes and Heroines', to illustrate which a special musical programme was compiled, comprising an excellent selection of items suited to the range of the voices of the youthful choristes - 800 in number - who under the efficient conduct of Mr. Thos. Facer, gave very able rendering of the same. Some very clever action songs were also performed by the playing of familiar tunes upon 800 toned bells, being a very attractive item in the programme. An additional attraction also was the exhibition by electric light of two of the latest developments of lantern work, viz., the kroniscope (or colour photography), and the aerial graphoscope, by means of which pictures are shown apparently in space. The descriptive lecture was given on alternatiove evenings by Messers. Geo. Shipway and F. N. Sharratt.”
