“Twickenham Wesleyan Band of Hope - At the Grosvenor-road school on Wednesday evening a choir of over 60 voices gave an excellent rendering of the service of song, entitled 'Only a Gipsy'. Mr. J. Atkinson conducted, and the accompaniements were played by Mr. W. Bennett. Lantern views, illustrating the story, were shown by mr. A. Howard, the lantern having been lent by Mr. Lewis, and the connective readings were given by Mr. Hodgson, who presided. Miss Neighbour also recited 'Curfew must not ring to-night,' the poem being illustrated with lantern scenes. The entertainment concluded with an exhbition of miscelleanous views and votes of thanks to the performers, proposed by the Rev. G. McNeill.”
