“Downend - On Monday, December 14th, an evening of sacred song, scene and story illustrating a visit to Palestine, was given in the Wesleyan school-room. A series of photographic lantern views was shown by Mr. J. Martin, the descriptive readings given by Mr. Hunt, while appropriate musical selections, consisting of solos, duets and anthems were rendered by the chapel choir. Miss Andrews presided at the harmonium. Mr. A. Petter, of Fishpounds presided and at the close expressed his pleasure at the excellent entertainment which had been provided. ”
